Karolinska Institutet, Institutionen för laboratoriemedicin

The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions and is active in many areas of Laboratory Medicine. The department is involved in advanced basic scientific, clinical and epidemiological research. The department is one of the largest departments of education at Karolinska Institutet.

Division
The Division of Clinical Immunology conducts research on several aspects of human immunology with a strong focus on developmental immunology, immunotherapy and pathologies associated with the immune system. Qiang Pan-Hammarström’s research group: https://ki.se/en/labmed/research-group-qiang-pan-hammarstrom

Duties
The fellow will be engaged in in-depth analysis of the multi-omic data of B cell lymphoid malignancies, with focus on diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma (FL) and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The whole genome or whole exome sequencing data will be integrated with the transcriptomic, proteomic, immunological and functional data. Techniques applied include MS, next generation sequencing platforms such as whole-exome, whole-genome sequencing, RNAseq, single cell sequencing and gene editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9. The fellow will be mainly responsible for the functional studies downstream of the initial bioinformatics analysis, using various cellular and molecular techniques. Finally, the fellow is expected to assume a major role in the writing of scientific publications and grant applications.

Entry requirements
Scholarships for carrying out postdoctoral research may be granted to persons living in other countries who come to Sweden with the intention of only staying in Sweden for all or part of their postdoctoral education at KI.
