Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM) performs research and education in close collaboration with the Karolinska University Hospital. Our research team at HERM studies neutrophil biology and autophagy. Our goal is to improve treatments for neutropenic patients.

Your mission

The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in our ongoing efforts to improve the understanding of neutrophil function and interaction with mesenchymal stem cells. We are also working on neutrophil functional assays to characterize the neutrophil transfusion products. This work requires a creative approach to incorporate the functional assays and molecular work to dissect the research questions.

Your profile

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in neutrophil biology and autophagy. Documented experience in the following techniques is required:

  1. Flow cytometry
  2. Neutrophil functional assays (migration, phagocytosis and oxidative burst).
  3. Experience culturing mesenchymal stem cells
  4. Deep understanding of autophagy

The projects are pursued in an interdisciplinary environment that involves collaboration with several groups; therefore, good collaborative skills are necessary. Fluency in English is mandatory.

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required.
