This position is intended to further strengthen and expand our leading research in the field of pharmacoepidemiology. The coordinator will have the main responsibility for data handling and statistical analysis, coordination of analytical efforts, and quality control and standardization of statistical programming and output within the framework of national and international pharmacoepidemiology research projects conducted by the team. Further, the coordinator will lead and be responsible for methods development in pharmacoepidemiology where we collaborate with other globally leading research teams, supervise master students, PhD students, postdocs, and junior statisticians; as well as contribute to the strategic development of the team’s research focus. Further, the position can be combined with own research.
A requirement for this position is a master level academic degree in a relevant discipline and a PhD focused on applied pharmacoepidemiology investigating associations between drug exposures and serious adverse events. Further, more than 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years of experience with large-scale register-based projects in the field of pharmacoepidemiology; experience from collaborative projects involving responsibility for analysis of register data from several Scandinavian countries; and experience from several different pharmacotherapeutic areas are required.
The successful applicant is an expert user of SAS statistical software including SAS macro language and is a proficient STATA statistical software user; has documented extensive experience with use of statistical methods common in pharmacoepidemiology; has substantial skills in the design and conduct of large-scale pharmacoepidemiology studies using linked registers; has experience from reporting of such studies in writing in medical journals and orally; has experience with exploration and implementation of new pharmacoepidemiologic methods; and has experience with supervision of students and junior analysts. A strong pharmacoepidemiology publication record is required.
Experience with obtaining grant funds and from outcomes research, including clinical epidemiology and health economics, are recognized as strong assets. Important personal merits include flexibility, independency, strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. Since we work in both Swedish and English, fluency in both is a prerequisite.
