A research assistant position is available in the lab of Rickard Sandberg at the department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Karolinska Institutet, one of the world’s leading biomedical research institutes. The lab is located at Biomedicum, a newly opened research building with excellent infrastructure and world leading research. The lab’s primary focus is to elucidate the regulation of mammalian gene expression and transcriptional dynamics, and to this end we are developing improved single-cell genomics methods.

Your mission

The successful applicant will be part of a project development within areas of transcriptional condensates and transcriptional kinetics. The position will involve cell culturing, optogenetic tools, microscopy, electronics combined with single-cell genomics in highly automated settings.

Your profile

To be eligible for this position, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

  • - Masters degree in biomedicine or molecular biology (or similar)
  • - Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA extractions, PCR, qPCR
  • - Experience in confocal microscopy
  • - Experience in liquid-liquid phase separations
  • - Experience in single-cell genomics, including plate-based library construction methods
  • - Fluency in English
  • - Excellent personal and communication skills
