Your mission

The candidate is expected to perform leading inter-disciplinary research in the area of precision medicine and microphysiology and to attract external funding to support these activities. Specifically, he is expected to lead a research group working on 3D cell culture systems of primary human cells, microfluidics and integrative bioinformatics approaches to develop better model systems for prediction of drug toxicity and to identify novel therapeutic strategies for complex metabolic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes. Additionally, the candidate should strengthen the departmental expertise in pharmacogenetics of drug response and adverse drug reactions on a population-scale. The announcement is for a research positions and does not include mandatory teaching obligations.

Your profile

A person is eligible to be appointed Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after the defense of his or her doctoral thesis

The successful candidate should have strong competitive track record in inter-disciplinary research including both experimental and computational models of relevance for precision medicine and microphysiology. Particular focus will be on organotypic tissue cultures, microfluidics, as well as computational multi-omics approaches. In addition, the candidate should have a demonstrated history of scientific independence and leadership. Multiple last author publications in international peer-reviewed journals are required.
