This position is available in the group of Associate Professor Tulay Lindberg at the Department of Dental Medicine, division of Oral Diseases. The research group studies chronic inflammation with special focus on host–microbiome interactions, the molecular mechanisms and biomarkers underlying the pathogenesis of the complexe disease periodontitis and its systemic associated diseases including rheumatoid arthritis. 

Your mission

The work will primarily focus on laboratory work including cell culturing, molecular biological and immunological  techniques. The work involves participation in different ongoing research projects and responsibilities to design and conduct experimental research, analyze and interpret the results, and communicate the findings.

Your profile

We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious and structured postdoctoral scientist to join our group. The applicant should have a PhD with a background in molecular biology, biotechnology, immunology, microbiology or equivalent scientific competence. Previous experience in cell culturing, qPCR, flow cytometry, Luminex/ELISA, 16S rRNA sequencing and immunohistochemistry methods are required. Excellent communication and writing skills in English is requried. In addition, we expect you to have minimum one first author publication in a prominent international peer-reviewed journal. Previous experience with siRNA-based techniques, bioinformatic knowledge and supervision of students are highly valued.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
