Description of research group and project
The central scientific interest of Myriam Aouadi’s lab is to understand the interaction between the immune system and metabolism at the molecular and cellular level, with the ultimate goal of applying the developmental principles, logic, pathways, technology, and model systems to unravel human metabolic disease. We use several different approaches to study immunometabolic diseases, including next generation sequencing, gene manipulation and in vivo systems. Duties and entry requirement
A postdoctoral research fellow position for a highly motivated candidate is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Myriam Aouadi. The focus of this position is to investigate molecular regulators of liver function in the context of non-alcoholic steato-hepatitis obesity and diabetes. The full-time position is for 1 year with the possibility of an additional extension of up to 3 years.

Highly motivated, hardworking candidates with a recent (less than 3 years) PhD in physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or relevant fields are encouraged to apply. The candidate is required to have experience and expertise in immunology. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in flow cytometry. Prior experience working with rodent models and accreditation (FELASA C or B) is preferred. Candidates with basic bioinformatics skills and/or single cell RNAseq are preferred. Candidates should also have published as lead author in peer-reviewed journals in the field of immunology or Diabetes. Particular emphasis will be placed on the ability to dedication, work in a team, scientific rigor, and capacity to clearly transfer knowledge. Ability to communicate in English is required.
