Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
We offer an engaging and international research environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to high quality research at international top level.
At the Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive and related Disorders Across the Lifespan research group, you will find a unique opportunity to work closely with top researchers in the field. Our research program aims to understand the causes and consequences of anxiety and OCD and related disorders using a variety of methods such as genetic epidemiology and brain imaging.
The successful applicant will be linked to Professor Mataix-Cols’s research group at CPF. Professor Mataix-Cols’ group conducts multi-disciplinary research (e.g., biological, clinical, social, epidemiological) in the areas of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. The applicant will be involved in the epidemiological projects, which include the study of risk factors, impact of the psychiatric disorders of interest in health and social outcomes, and mortality. The applicant will also be involved in a pharmacoepidemiology project examining the predictors and long-term health consequences of chronic benzodiazepine use.
Primary duties will mainly include data extraction, data management, and data analysis of large population-based registers. The applicant will have full access to the infrastructure of the CNS Department at KI and to the Swedish population registers.
Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals. The applicant should have experience in the field of medical or social epidemiology. Proficiency in the use of analytic software such as SAS is required and experience in working with other analytic software (e.g., Stata, R) is an advantage. It is desirable that the applicant has obtained a PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or similar – or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence. The applicant is required to have a proven record of carrying out statistical data analysis with focus on longitudinal modelling of register-based cohort data. Experience working with the Swedish nationwide health and administrative registers and, in particular, with the Swedish Prescribed Drug register is an advantage.
The candidate should be able to take initiative, ensure that project goals are consistently met, be flexible to manage projects effectively, and be comfortable having parallel activities. The applicant must be able to integrate well into the international and multidisciplinary environment. Personal suitability is therefore of great importance.
A temporary full-time position for the period of 1 year is offered. This period can be extended further according to performance and the dynamic needs of the research group.
