Come join the Rudd Lab! We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our group and embark on a collaborative and translational research project with the ultimate goal of providing cancer patients with improved treatment options. We are a young and dynamic team affiliated with the Department of Oncology-Pathology and physically located at SciLifeLab in Stockholm.
The project is centred upon antimetabolite cancer therapies, which remain standard-of-care for many common cancers. However, their efficacy can vary, and the underlying molecular mechanisms can often remain unclear. Thus, in this project we aim to further our basic understanding of how these chemotherapeutic agents exert their therapeutic effects, to understand why in some instances they work and in others they do not, and leverage this information to design therapy improvements. The successful candidate will employ an array of biochemical, molecular and cell biology-focused approaches, together with collaborating with our clinical partners in the Herold lab (Department of Women’s and Children’s Health), to fulfil the translational research goals of this project.
This call is part of the KI-SciLifeLab Clinical Translational Postdoc Program with the purpose of promoting interaction between the SciLifeLab research environment and clinical research environments at Karolinska Institutet. The postdocs that are recruited to the program will form a network with the support of the SciLifeLab Committee KI.
