The setup is used in an ongoing biology project involving irradation of young mice to study effects of ionizing radiation on the growing skeleton. The equipment for mice irradiation at KI (kV irradiator, dedicated collimator, mouse geometry from CT data in form of so-called DICOM images). Monte Carlo simulations are tob e validated through comparison with experimental data. (ii) Monte Carlo simulations to study the effect of ocular shields in head and neck cancer brachytherapy in realistic patient and treatment geometries deduced from DICOM CT images.

Your profile

The applicant must have an education focused on medical radiation physics. It is preferrably if the applicant is, or will soon, be a licensed medical physicist.
