We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher with a background in epidemiology and biostatistics and a strong interest in diabetes research! You will work at the Unit for Epidemiology, Institute for Environmental Medicine in a stimulating, international and creative environment. The position is for a period of two years.

Your mission

This research project aims to study the risk of diabetes in relation to the interaction between lifestyle and genetic factors. The post doc is expected to work independently and formulate new hypotheses, handle databases, analyze data and write scientific papers. The work also involves teaching epidemiological methods at master level.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

To be eligible, the applicant must also:

  1. Have a PhD in medical science in the area of epidemiology
  2. Have experience in handling large databases
  3. Be a proficient SAS user
  4. Have experience in teaching epidemiological methods.

Applications are invited from talented and enthusiastic applicants with good knowledge in public health, and with advanced knowledge in the field of epidemiology, biostatistics and diabetes. Experience with the statistical software SAS and teaching experience in the field of epidemiology is required. The applicant will need to both feel comfortable with working in teams and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be independent enough to formulate new hypotheses and critically examine the results.
