Cell Signalling, Immunity and Nanoimaging (CSI:Nano) Lab (https://www.csi-nano.org/) located in SciLifeLab (www.scilifelab.se) and Karolinska Institute (https://ki.se) is looking for motivated postdoctoral candidates that will work on biophysical principles underlying cell signalling.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctoral fellow is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

Preferred technical expertise is as follows:

  • Strong expertise in biophysics, bioimaging and membrane biology
  • Proficiency in basic cell and molecular biology techniques
  • Good knowledge of immunobiology
  • Expertise in optics is an advantage but not essential
  • Expertise in scientific programming is an advantage but not essential
  • Moreover, independent working skills, teamwork spirit and willingness to help PhD/master students are needed.

The candidates should be able to work independently but also as a team member.

The candidates should be motivated about interdisciplanary science, eager to learn new technologies and share their expertise with other scientists.

CSI:Nano Lab supports open science and open data as well as sharing knowledge with the community and the public. Fellows are expected to be eager to share knowledge openly.

What do we offer?

CSI:Nano Lab gives the fellows opportunity to develop and/or apply state-of-the-art imaging methodologies to solve biological mysteries. Necessary training on the advanced bioimaging technologies will be given to the fellows.

CSI:Nano Lab gives the candidates opportunity to become fully independent researchers in interdisciplinary science within years.
