Karolinska Institutet, Institutionen för medicin, Solna, Avdelningen för reumatologi

The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The department consists of several divisions that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: allergy, cardiovascular medicine and inflammatory diseases.

Division
Research at the division of Rheumatology spans a wide range of subjects, covering areas as diverse as clinical rheumatology, antibody biology, basic T cell biology, inflammatory mechanisms and more.
The research assistant will be working in the lab of Assistant Professor Carmen Gerlach (www.gerlachlab.com). Our research is directed at understanding basic cellular and molecular principles governing T cell responses to acute infections and cancer. We strive to understand mechanisms underlying the generation, maintenance and consequences of the heterogeneity within the T cell immune response, with a special focus on CD8 T cells.
The lab is physically located at the Center for Molecular Medicine, CMM at the Solna Campus of the Karolinska University Hospital.
