We are looking for a newly educated, innovative and highly motivated student that are prepared to work hard to ultimately obtain a PhD in the field of DNA nanotechnology and its biological applications. Applicants should have an interest in building molecular machines at the smallest possible scale using self-assembly. Since a lot of the research goals in the group are focused on tools for biology and applications of DNA nanotechnology, applicants should also have an interest in fundamental molecular and cellular biology. Research group
Our research group is composed of people from many different fields (mainly biologists, chemists and physicists) and the research is highly interdisciplinary. For this announced position we are primarily looking for students with skills and expertise in biology.
The applicant should have a background in biomedical sciences, with knowledge in the field of immunology and viral infections. Good expertise in culture of mammalian cells, bacteria lab routines, fluorescence microscopy and image analysis is required. Prior experience in wet lab and biochemistry techniques such as protein-DNA conjugation, electrophoresis, and chromatography is highly preferable. A Master’s degree or equivalent is required.
