The main objectives of the Department of Oncology-Pathology are basic, translational and clinical research and educational activities related to cancer. Approximately 300 people from many different nations are currently working at the department. We have around 30 research groups with various cancer research profiles and we have around 120 PhD students.

Your mission

We are looking for a highly motivated person with a strong background in immunology. The projects involve the development of human T cell technologies and explore T cell repertoires in cancer patients, with the aim of developing novel immunotherapies against cancer

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

Qualifications:

  •  The applicant must show verified skills particularly in in tumor immunology and immunotherapy of cancer
  • Methodological expertise with a focus on human cellular immunology research.
  • The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and an ability to interact effectively and work within a team.
  • Fluency in English is a requirement.

The position is placed in the research group of Stina Wickström/Rolf Kiessling at department of Oncology-Pathology, BioClinicum, Karolinska Institutet.
