Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We want to recruit a Research  Assistant to our translational lung cancer research team at Department of Oncology/Pathology. We are looking for you who want to contribute to our research related to biomarker discovery in lung cancer with a focus on extracellular vesicles. In particular, we are searching for you who want to work as a research assistant and explore the role of extracellular vesicles as communicators in metastasis, precision cancer medicine and immunotherapy treatments and in context of precision radiotherapy.

Your mission

As our research assistant you will work with preparation of material from our liquid-and tumor biopsy samples of lung cancer patients with a focus on extracellular vesicles (EVs). You will be involved in research related to protein cargo analyses of EVs and lung cancer cells in context of metastasis, response to precision cancer medicine, immunotherapy and precision radiotherapy. You will prepare EVs from liquid biopsies, work in experimental models of lung cancer with characterization of signaling components but also contribute with your skills in bioinformatics and programming for analyzing proteomic profiling data.

Your profile

Qualifications:

  •  You should have a recent degree in biotechnology or biomedicine field
  • You need to have a theoretical knowledge in molecular biomedicine, biochemistry, biotechnology and/or bioinformatics and it is meriting if you have conducted a degree project in the cancer field.
  • You have experience of working independently in experimental lab research, preferentially with a focus on cancer associated topics.

Merits:

  • It is meritorious if you have previous documented experience in working with isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles with methods such as size exclusion chromatography, Nanoparticle Tracking Analyses, ELISA, western blotting, mass spectrometry and/or flowcytometry.
  • We are looking for you who also are independent in analyses of cancer cells with experience in cell viability assessment, siRNA methodology, flow cytometry profiling and immunofluorescence microscopy.
  • You will take part in analyses of “omics” data generated in our projects related and it is therefore meritorious if you have theoretical and practical “knowhow” in bioinformatics and/or programming.
  • We value if you are independent in your daily work but also that you are flexible and like to be a team player with excellent communication skills in written/spoken
  • English as some of our projects are international collaborative efforts.
