Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research? Join us in developing education of the highest quality

Cardiovascular disease and diabetes are increasing health problems worldwide, which are often associated with development of chronic kidney disease. Further understanding about the underlying disease mechanisms will aid the development of novel preventive and therapeutic strategies. At our Institute we use a translational research approach with sophisticated methods to further investigate reno-cardio-metabolic disease.

Your mission

In this translational project on cardiometabolic disease and associated kidney disease, you will be actively involved in preclinical studies using experimental animal disease models, ex vivo organ and vessel studies as well as in vitro cell studies, but to some extent also involved in the clinical studies in patients with cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and kidney dysfunction. Specific focus will be to study the role and regulation of oxidative stress and nitric oxide deficiency in the development and progression of the disease, and to investigate the therapeutic value of novel dietary and pharmacological strategies.

Your profile

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest for science and translational research in the cardiovascular field. Previous experience from translational studies and hands on knowledge regarding the performance of in vivo functional characterization of reno-cardio-metabolic functions as well as experience from relevant ex vivo and in vitro studies are important merits. You must be a person who likes to work in teams and who communicates excellent in English.
