We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to maintain and to improve the Molecular Tumor Board Portal, a clinical decision support system to guide molecular based medicine in cancer (see here for more details). MTB-portal is a tool to harness research knowledge for patient benefit. The system is used by 7 European comprehensive cancer centers as a clinical and sequencing data repository, a tool for tumor molecular profiles interpretation, and a framework to report results.
The position will be placed in the Cancer proteomics Mass spectrometry research group headed by Professor Janne Lehtiö at Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab). The Lehtiö group is a translational group of scientists with a drive to improve human proteome analysis by developing new methods that can be applied to improve personalized cancer treatment.
Software Engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages, like HTML, Javascript, Python and PHP. Our ideal candidate is familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.
Ultimately, the role of the Software Engineer is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.
