The Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC) operates mainly at The Flemingsberg Campus in connection to Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge. The Department also operates at Karolinska University Hospital in Solna and Solna Campus. There are 14 Divisions and 1 Section at CLINTEC. The activities include clinical research, education and development.

We work in an international and multicultural environment with undergraduates, graduate students, exchange students in the ERASMUS program, postdoctoral researchers, educators and scientists at Karolinska Institutet and organizations with a common vision of excellence in research, education and development. CLINTEC has about 180 employees, about 200 graduate students and 400 affiliated scientists and educators.

Division 
At the division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology The Lanner laboratory is working towards novel treatments of Age-related macular degeneration through the use of human embryonic stem cells. The laboratory is working in close collaboration with Anders Kvantas research group at S:t Eriks Eye hospital. Through donation to this research program by the Birgitta Bromées Memorial foundation, we will now recruit a biomedical analyst to translate preclinical production of retinal cells from embryonic stem cells to a clinically compliant production within the GMP facility at the Karolinska University.

Duties
As a biomedical analyst in the Lanner Lab you will lead the efforts to translate preclinical differentiation protocols already established within the laboratory into GMP protocols, the following cell production and communicate our work nationally and internationally.
The position is a temporary postion for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for the position if he or she has obtained a PhD. The applicant should have experience in research concerning regenerative, stem cell and developmental biology with extensive experience in stem cell cultures.

Selection criteria
In the selection we will put focus on subject specific knowledge (within stem cell based regenerative medicine) and general scientific achievements. Having a good overview of the field of stem cell based regenerative medicine together with national and international networks within the field is a merit. Willingness and experience in communicating regenerative medicine is also meritorious.
