Division
Department of Medicine, Solna
Unit of Translational Immunology

Duties
The Unit of Translational Immunology is offering a position for postdoctoral studies in the field of extracellular vesicles/exosomes in the group of associate professor Susanne Gabrielsson. The group is working both on clinical samples and in animal models to understand the role of exosomes in the immune system, and how to use them for therapy in cancer or allergy. The post-doctoral fellow will isolate exosomes from different sources, both from patient sampleas and cell lines, characterize them and test them in different in vitro experimental settings. The post-doc fellow is expected to work independently, to take the responsibilities of the execution, organization, and development of the research project, to generate and document experiment results in a good order, and to report project progresses to the group leader regularly. The post-doc fellow is also expected to be instrumental in presentation and manuscript preparation of the scientific findings, and to supervise junior members of the group.

Entry requirements
Applicants to this position must have a PhD degree in biomedicine or life science. The successful applicant should have expertise in cell culture, flow cytometry, and basic cellular and molecular biology techniques. Previous research experience of detecting exosomes or other extracelllar vesicles is a merit. The applicant should also have a high personal drive and motivation for immunology research, and be fluent in English.

A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc.

An employment application must contain the following documents in English or Swedish:

  1. A complete curriculum vitae, including date of the thesis defence, title of the thesis, previous academic positions, academic title, current position, academic distinctions, and committee work

  4. Verifications for crediting of illness, military service, work for labour unions or student organisations, parental leave or similar circumstances
