The Morgantini Team is a newly formed team within the Cardio Metabolic Unit of the Division of Endocrinology in Huddinge. The goal of the team is to understand the role of immune cell activation in the pathogenesis of cardio-metabolic disorders. By combining analysis on human immune cell epigenome and transcriptome with clinical and diagnostic information, we aim to identify pattern that can help to determine human individual risk of developing cardio-metabolic complications, detect illness earlier and, find the most effective intervention to improve patient health.
We are looking to recruit a research assistant who will be working with the team leader as well as with the research nurse and students of the team to investigate the monocytes/macrophages function in the context of diabetes and its complication. Full-time position is available for 6 months with the possibility of extension. You will have the opportunity to put your experimental skills to good use as well as learn new techniques. Your experimental duties will be varied including opportunities to use cutting-edge technologies for the isolation, identification, and characterisation of primary cells as well developing and culturing 3D human organoids. We are looking for a highly motivated and well-organized person that must have good communication skills and ability to interact with colleagues and collaborators. You are expected to rather independently carry out the cell culture work and your input in experimental methodologies is very welcome.
