Your mission

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study cancer-associated inflammation and its role in cancer development and progression. The research is centered around inhibition of prostaglandin E2 in tumor in vivo- and in vitro models and understanding of resulting molecular events. The candidate will be responsible for planning and performing in vitro and in vivo experiments. We are looking for a person with strong competence in running projects independently but also having good abilities for teamwork and cooperation. Besides working on existing projects, the candidate will also be encouraged to write grants to start their own project.

Your profile

The applicant should have a solid background in cellular or molecular biology. The applicants need to have documented experience with cell culture work and in performing functional studies in cancer mouse models. Previous experience in writing ethical permit applications is meritorious. Hands-on experience in work with 3D tumor models, fluorescence microscopy, immunohistochemical analysis, cell sorting and quantitative PCR analysis is meriting for the position. The applicants should demonstrate excellent ability to write and speak English.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and each division consists of several research groups.
