Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We use molecular methods in combination with well characterized longitudinal clinical cohorts and epidemiological studies to increase the understanding of asthma and allergies, with the overall aim to develop a diagnostic and prognostic molecular tool for clinical use. Our research group “Genetic and epigenetic factors in asthma and allergy” belongs to the unit of Clinical Pediatrics that focuses on pediatric immunology, infection and inflammation at the Department of Women's and Children's Health at Karolinska Institutet. We have a close connection to Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital. The lab is located in the new research building BioClinicum on the Karolinska University Hospital campus in Solna, where we share space with other research groups from the same department.

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven person, specialized in bioinformatics or biostatistics to join our team and work on genetics and epigenetics in childhood asthma and allergy. You have a solid background in bioinformatics or biostatistics, data analyses and visualization, in combination with the ability to work in a translational research environment. You are expected to take a strong lead in data analyses. The position includes data QC, data analyses of large data sets, including development and establishment of new methods to support the ongoing research in the group. Focus will be genetic and epigenetic data, such as genome wide SNP data, RNA sequencing data, as well as DNA methylation data. Handling data sets on a genome wide level will be on a daily bases, and therefore it is essential to work in a thorough and structured way. It is highly meriting if the applicant has previous knowledge and practical experience of analyses and interpretation of data in the field of gene expression, genetics and epigenetics.
