Karolinska Institutet accounts for over 40 per cent of the medical academic research conducted in Sweden and offers the country's broadest range of education in medicine and health sciences. Since 1901 the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet has selected the Nobel laureates in Physiology or Medicine.

Division
We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a post-doctoral fellowship dedicated to explore the role of the epigenome and 3-dimensional nuclear architecture in the emergence of cancer stem-like cell states in breast cancer from entirely novel perspectives. The successful applicant is expected to drive a postdoctoral project in the labs of Anita Göndör and Rolf Ohlsson at the department of Oncology and Pathology, as well as to participate in collaborative efforts within an interdisciplinary consortium consisting of five laboratories including pre-clinical, clinical and computer scientists. This consortium is aiming at uncovering hitherto unknown therapeutic targets in breast cancer, and is supported by a five-year grant from a major supporter of Swedish science, the KA Wallenberg Foundation. Our lab is equipped with a Mi-seq machine and a 5-color confocal microscope, and is located within the Theme Cancer section of BioClinicum at Karolinska Institutet.

For further information about our work, please consult a selection of reports from our labs: Nature genetics 51: 1723-1731 (2019); Science 359:1212-1213 (2018); Mol Cell 59:984-97 (2015); Nature Review Genetics 17:284-99 (2016); Nature 2009; Sumida et al, BioRxiv 2018 doi: https://doi.org/10.1101/286583

Duties
The successful applicant will employ state-of-the-art epigenomic techniques adapted to the analyses of single cells and single cell RNA-seq, and join a lab currently consisting of 4 PhD students, 7 postdocs and four affiliated professors.
