The Unit for Teaching and Learning - The medical education unit for Karolinska Institutet  since the 1st of Januari 2019.
The Unit for Teaching and Learning (TL) facilitates the development of Karolinska Institutet’s Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral education. The unit offers professional development courses for teachers, facilitates the development of instruction and course design, provides a forum for dialogue on higher education, and supports the development of multimedia learning materials and educational infrastructure at KI. TL serves staff involved in Karolinska Institutet’s educational activities, both at the university and in the healthcare services of the Stockholm region.
At the Unit for Teaching and Learning, we work collaboratively, each professional contributing from the perspective of their own competences and backgrounds, in order to create solutions to current and future challenges in learning and teaching. We are committed to collectively creating conditions for education of the highest quality.
We are now looking to hire 1-3 educational developers for permanent posts with a start date as soon as possible.

Your mission

To lead and to conduct professional development courses on higher education pedagogy, to support educational development projects and consult in educational matters. Teaching duties include course leadership, teaching, assessment, evaluation and course development. Producing educational materials and initiating and conducting various educational activities are also part of the tasks. Important aspects of the work are staying up to date with the latest findings in educational research and actively contribute to the work of the unit.

Your profile

Necessary requirements

  • An academic degree in a relevant field 
  • Good competence in higher education pedagogy
  • Good teaching skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to cooperate in a team, and to work collaboratively in a variety of contexts
  • Good skills in written and oral communication in English

Qualifying competencies

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence
  • Good skills in the Swedish language
  • Experience of working with digital tools and systems
  • Experience of educational development projects or educational research
  • Experience of having led and conducted development projects
  • Experience of working in higher education, especially within medical and healthcare education
  • Expertise in assessment or educational design

Your teaching skills and your personal qualities will be given particular weight in the application process.
