Karolinska Institutet, Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology

The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching in immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC has about 430 active employees, including 80 PhD students, 50 postdoctoral researchers and 35 principal investigators. Keywords are multidisciplinary, bridging, translational, national and international collaborations.

Division
The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology at Karolinska Institutet (KI) announces an opportunity to join the research group of Assistant Professor Georgios A. Sotiriou as a research assistant in bionanomaterials. The lab has extensive experience in the flame synthesis of nanoparticles and assembly of devices with focus on superior performance. The lab’s mission is to develop nanobiomaterials, tools and methods for medicine using engineering sciences. The research in this lab is highly multidisciplinary combining expertise from material engineering, bioengineering and health sciences. This allows for the design of bionanomaterials that exhibit the desired functionality in applications ranging from diagnostics (biosensors) to therapeutic interventions.

For more information about the research see the KI webpage of the Principal Investigator (PI), Assistant Professor Dr. Georgios A. Sotiriou http://ki.se/en/people/geosot and the research group’s website: https://sotirioulab.net

For any questions please contact the PI at georgios.sotiriou@ki.se.
