Division
The overall aim of this post doc is to clarify to what extent workers exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, are at risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease. The post doc will analyse early cancer-related changes and cardiovascular toxicity in relation to different measures of exposure in existing cohorts.

Duties
Exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is common in Swedish workplaces. Historical studies showed that high-grade PAH exposure increases the risk of cancer and probably cardiovascular disease, but which PAH workers are exposed to today, and whether this exposure leads to disease is less known. The overall aim of this post doc is to clarify to what extent today's chimney sweeps, are at risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease. The post doc will analyse early cancer-related changes and cardiovascular toxicity in relation to different measures of exposure in existing cohorts.

Entry requirements
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.

The post doc is expected to have a PhD in occupational toxicology and have a documented experience of biomarkers of exposure and early disease (including (epi)genetic) as well as advanced statistical methods. The post doc will actively participate in the research by performing genetic, epigenetic analyses on collected human samples. Further, the post doc will perform statistical and bioinformatic analysis and critically evaluate, compile and present the results, both in writing and orally. The post doc will work in a creative environment in close cooperation with PhD students, post docs and senior researchers.
