Postdoctoral studies in single cell proteomics (SCP) methods (scholarship)

Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Your mission

With a mission to develop single cell proteomics (SCP) methods, you will be part of both proteomics core facility and a research group. Our lab is one of the pioneers in the area, for the first time merging SCP with chemical proteomics. We have also been the first who detected proteins from single bacterium. Now time is to develop SCP further, merging it with redox proteomics and solubility-based chemical proteomics approaches. You will also participate in developing new methods of isotopic ratio measurements in proteins from single cells. Top of the line instruments, including Orbitrap Astral, will be at your disposal for these experiments.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral fellow a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Your background in proteomics is a must, and SCP experience is considered a merit. An additional merit is the proficiency in a computer language, such as R, Python, Java or C. Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must, the ability to deliver your message concisely is highly valued.

Entry requirements

Postdoctoral scholarships may be established for foreign researchers who pursue their postdoctoral research in Sweden. The purpose of scholarships for postdoctoral qualification is to promote internationalization and contribute to research qualification after a doctorate or equivalent.

A scholarship for carrying out postdoctoral research can be granted for a maximum of two years within a four year period following the receipt of a doctoral degree or equivalent.

Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) start date of the post doctoral education.

The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish doctorate or higher.
