You are welcomed to join a young, dynamic research group working translationally to understand how human white adipose tissue impacts the emergence of cardiovascular disease. As a part of a well-established larger network of researchers in metabolism, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular inflammation we focus on identifying early disease mechanisms and novel therapeutic targets, focusing on human in vitro cell culture systems.
The postdoctoral project is focused on culturing adipocyte spheroids and investigating if alleviating adipose dysfunction can protect against the development of cardiovascular diseases. The project will also involve analysis of human sequencing data and the lipid handling dynamics of adipocytes, as well as training younger researchers in the lab.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and hard-working researcher with a PhD in a relevant discipline and a strong research background in experimental 3D adipocyte cell culture models, preferentially documented with several research publications. Applicants should be able to independently plan, perform, analyse and document 3D adipocyte culture experiments as well as performing post-culture analyses of lipid content, protein expression and adipocyte function. Experience with research animals is also a plus. Scientific expertise and an ambitious, pro-active and problem-solving attitude are highly valued. Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English are a must, as is the ability to work in a team.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required.
