The Division of Biostatistics is seeking multiple statisticians at the level of postdoctoral and assistant professor. The statisticians will perform cutting-edge research and may be involved in teaching activities.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree, or equivalent scientific competence, in biostatistics, mathematical statistics, or a related field. Applicants who have not yet completed a doctoral program at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent. Knowledge of statistical software is expected, and computer programming skills are desirable. The ability of communicating well in English, both oral and written, is important. Experience from research in epidemiology, medicine, or other substantive disciplines is valuable, but it is not required.

The Division of Biostatistics is part of the Institute of Environmental Medicine, one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet, comprising some 300 staff. The Division of Biostatistics aims to contribute toward advancing science and disseminating knowledge and culture of biostatistics. For many years, it has been extremely active in research, teaching, and service to the scientific community at large. It consists of faculty, researchers, instructors, doctoral students, and postdoctoral and visiting fellows. In the year 2018 alone, the most recent complete year, its research activities yielded over 80 publications in scientific journals in various areas, spanning from mathematical statistics to applied statistics, epidemiology, medicine, biology, and others.
