The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) conducts research and education in the field of neuroscience from the molecular level to the society level. The clinical research and education is conducted in collaboration with Region Stockholm as well as other research groups from Karolinska Institutet and other universities.

Division
Division of Neuro focuses in neurological diseases, brain and spinal cord injuries. The research group which Per Svenningsson leads aims to better understand the cause of disease in the nervous system with the perspective of revealing new and better treatments in neurodegenerative diseases and especially Parkinson's disease. Clinical, experimental and basic science research as well as teaching is conducted in close collaboration with the clinics. The research group consists of both molecular biology scientists as well as physicians, nurses and physiotherapists. One of its strengths is the patient-oriented research that is performed. Methodology within the field of genetic, epidemiological and immunological methods is used.
Duties
As a research assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for aiding in executive tasks concerning a new clinical study on Parkinson’s disease. Tasks include preparing and applying for ethics approval and also approval from the Swedish medical products agency.
The applicant will be expected to work well independently and as part of a team, establishing and maintaining collaborations. They should be motivated to work in an international and multidisciplinary research group.
Entry requirements
Applicants should have a Medical Diploma and should be well advanced in their specialization in neurology. Broad clinical experience in neurodegenerative disorders will be appreciated. A background in clinical research preferably in the neuroscience field, is advantageous. Excellent command of the Swedish language is required since applications to government institutions are in Swedish. Command of the English language is highly advantageous for future work in the research group.
