Karolinska Institutet

The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions and is active in many areas of Laboratory Medicine. The department is involved in advanced basic scientific, clinical and epidemiological research. The department is one of the largest departments of education at Karolinska Institutet.

Division
The Clinical Research Centre (CRC) is a common resource for researchers from different departments at Karolinska Institutet and/or clinics at Karolinska University Hospital. The major part of the clinical research at Karolinska University Hospital is performed at CRC, presently comprising some 20 research groups with over 150 employees. The Centre provides the facilities needed for cell- and molecular biology research and the possibility to perform research in vivo.

The recruitment of a medical laboratory scientist (BMA) is within the Karolinska Institutet core facility for Morphologic phenotype analysis (FENO), which focuses on comparative pathology as a service and competence center for the entire Karolinska Institutet. FENO has a responsible role providing expertise on necropsy technique, gross morphology, histological technique and histopathology for both researchers within KI and external customers. Methods include immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization for bright field and fluorescent microscopy. We are involved in a variety of research areas, and offer an exciting working environment with a broad scope in a growing field.
