Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

At the Clinical Epidemiology Division, one of our research groups works with clinical epidemiological research on rheumatoid arthritis and other chronic inflammatory diseases, in close collaboration with translational and clinical rheumatology researchers at the department, at KI at large, nationally and internationally. Our work focuses on models for personalized treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. We use a combination of data from registers, clinical, genetic, serological and lifestyle data, and advanced computational models.

We are now expanding our data- and analysis-team and search for a new colleague to be employed as a statistician and work with analyses in our different but mainly epidemiological research projects, focusing on prediction modeling. The role also includes administering our research data collections, including extractions of data for various research projects from these sources.

Your mission

The candidate will be a key person in projects focusing on precision medicine and prediction model building in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The position will allow you to work in a multinational and clinically oriented research setting where you will have the opportunity to contribute to, and follow the development of, new principles for therapy and prevention of rheumatic diseases. Apart from participating in research, the role includes management of our research data collections and extracting data for various research projects.

Your profile

The successful candidate has a master degree that includes formal training in statistics and statistical theory. Maybe you just graduated from a program in (bio)statistics, mathematics or engineering? Moreover, you have a keen interest in prediction modelling and machine learning. Hands on experience of working with research and/or medical/clinical data management is considered a merit, as is hands-on experience of epidemiological study designs and hypothesis-based analytical approaches. You are structured and organized in your work and know the importance of documentation to ensure traceability. You enjoy working in close collaborations with researchers, helping people and you have a service mindset. Fluency in English (oral and written) is a requirement as communication is key part of the job. You are well versed in a programming language suitable for data management, such as R or SAS. Emphasis will be put on communication skills and personal suitability.
