Do you want to contribute to better health for all?

The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet and is organized in several research divisions. The Clinical Epidemiology Division is home to six research groups that conduct research in population-based epidemiology through the use of register-based health care data, often supplemented with information from medical records, biological samples and surveys, to address questions that aim to improve patient health care and clinical practice. The position is placed within the cancer epidemiology research group at the Division and involves work in an ongoing prospective observational study on Lymphoma, The BioLymph Study, that is performed in collaboration with the Karolinska University Hospital.

The BioLymph Study includes newly diagnosed lymphoma patients in Stockholm with the aim to increase knowledge and implementation of precision diagnostics/medicine biomarkers approaches across mature B- and T-cell lymphoma subtypes. The study uses broad targeted NGS-based gene panels on tumor tissue and plasma to determine diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers at diagnosis and during follow-up. In the long-term, the study will contribute to important insights into identification of high-risk patients, development and application of prognostic models, assessment of MRD and development of new follow-up routines in lymphoma including molecular tumor boards supporting clinical decision-making.
