At our Laboratory of Translational Fertility Preservation at Karolinska Institute we aim to overcome infertility in young patients after cancer treatment. Our group conducts translational research in close collaboration with the clinicians of Karolinska University Hospital.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in reproductive biology research, with several years of experience in the field of reproductive biology and relevant publications. The person should also be well acquainted with studies of gonadotoxic chemotherapeutic drugs, apoptotic pathways and their mechanisms of follicle damage. A broad hands-on experience in cell- and molecular methods, particularly with ovarian follicle culture is important. Experience from working with mouse models is a plus as well as experience from handling relevant patient material such as ovarian tissue and oocytes.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with strong interest in novel technologies. We expect the candidate to be an independent worker but with very good collaboration skills.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
Fluency in English (oral and written) is a requirement.
