Do you want to contribute to better health for all?

We invite applications for a research specialist position in Dr. Francois Lallemend research group, which explores the specific neural pathways underlying sensory perception and their central integration in the auditory, vestibular, and sensorimotor systems. The Lallemend lab is located at Karolinska Institutet and is part of a very dynamic and interactive scientific environment in the new building Biomedicum which includes five departments. The position will be placed in the Department of Neuroscience, which comprises several research groups working on different aspects of nervous system function, both under normal conditions and in various disease states.

Your mission

As a research specialist in the field of sensory system biology, you will be a driving force in the planning, study management and analysis work of many ongoing and new studies on the identification and role of new cell types and their associated circuits in sensory information processing. You will also be involved in supervision and educational activities in the laboratory. The research program in the lab makes use of various methods, including mouse genetic tools, virus tracing technology, histology, and behavioral assays to reveal the different sensory channels and associated central circuits. The lab is also using next-generation sequencing for studying the molecular changes associated with sensory systems plasticity.
