Seeing is believing – at the Dept Physiology & Pharmacology, understanding mechanisms of receptor function and drug action present cornerstones in translational pharmacology research. In order to obtain deeper insights into drug action, we embark on a structural biology approach employing CryoEM for visualization of drug-target complexes.
We are seeking a highly experienced senior research specialist (20% employment) in structural biology and cryogenic electron microscopy (CryoEM). The successful candidate has an ongoing and independent line of research in structural biology with emphasis on CryoEM of large protein complexes. Experience with the purification and analysis of membrane protein complexes is especially qualifying.
At the Schulte laboratory we focus on structure-function analysis of Class F GPCRs. The newly recruited senior research specialist will be involved in elucidating Class F GPCR structure by CryoEM. The work is embedded in national collaborations and merges well with ongoing studies on Class F receptor function and dynamics.
To be eligible for employment as a Senior Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated good level of research expertise with significant scientific production. The applicant must also have demonstrated a good scientific independence to which their own contribution has been significant and a research plan of high quality with clear potential for the future.
For employment as Senior Research Specialist at Karolinska Institutet, the eligibility requirements and assessment criteria stated in the Rules regarding other positions than teaching positions are applied in relation to the established profile of employment.
