Your mission

The group holds a unique broad biobank (clinical, radiological, bloodbank, wall samples) with aneurysm patients. This specific project period will cover the completion of two projects for the selected candidate. The first project will include hands-on working with completing a collection of data from a targeted screening program for aneurysms which has been made in 2020. The candidate will primarily work with completing the dataset, work with statistical analysis and contribution with manuscript writing in close cooperation with the PI and PhD student in this project. The second project includes similar hands-on questionnaire collection from patients, merging of datasets, statistical analysis and contribution with manuscript writing in cooperation with the post-doc in this project. We are seeking an enthusiastic and intellectually independent junior scientist to join our team to work with this dedicated project.

Your profile

The successful candidate will have experience of register-based research, be independent in analysis of big-data sets preferably with use of STATA or R. The candidate should have a medical background with some clinical experience from the care of surgical patient groups, such as medical student or internship. The candidate must hold very good skills in written and spoken English. The candidate should have good knowledge and experience of epidemiological registry-based projects in the Vascular Surgical field, preferably aneurysm disease. We are interested in inviting a candidate with knowledge of clinically relevant sex-differences in this field. You must have a basic medical education, such as medical school.

What do we offer?

A position as research assistant in the STAR group for 4 month working with the designated projects with the PI, postdocs and PhD students in close collaboration. During this period the candidate will have a desk in close adjunct to the members of the team.
