Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

Our goal is to uncover the complex pathophysiological mechanisms behind why diabetic and obese people present decreased stroke recovery.

We search for a candidate with PhD in neuroscience and experience with preclinical stroke research. Metabolic/Diabetes background is a strong plus

Your mission

The candidate should be adaptable to work within our research group and with an already established network involving Academia and the Industry. Thus, highly developed skills in English communication are required.

Your profile

  • 1) Stroke research experience documented by one or more publications on peer-reviewed journals.
  • 2) Immunohistochemistry expertise in the injured brain (from frozen and PFA fixed rodent brains).
  • 3) Behavioural tests (sensorimotor and/or cognitive).
  • 4) ELISA/multiplex methods from blood and/or brain.
  • 5) Expertise in neurogenesis and or neuroplasticity recovery mechanisms and/or neuroinflammation are strong plus.
  • 6) Experience in diabetes research is a plus.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to individuals who come from other countries with the intention of remaining in Sweden only while obtaining part of their education. The scholarship is paid for 12 months at a time, paid monthly and is exempted from Swedish income tax. This educational scholarship can be paid for a maximum of two years.
