The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) is a department with a strong focus on basic science. CMB conducts research and education in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, cancer and infection biology.
Division
Andras Simon’s research group is studying regeneration mechanisms in salamanders. The group has recently developed several novel methods, which allow for characterization of cell replacement and repair of degenerating tissues at the molecular level. They also place our findings into an evolutionary context.

Duties
The successful candidate will work in a larger research group, which is studying regeneration mechanisms in salamanders. The work includes studies on salamanders with special focus on neurogenesis.
Entry requirements
We are looking for a person with experience working with neurogenesis in salamanders, in particular in Notophthalmus viridescens and Pleurodeles Waltl. The person should have published several scientific articles as first author in the field of neurogenesis and neuronal development. The candidate should have broad knowledge base in histology and cell biology from PhD studies and experience as postdoc. The candidate should have obtained a PhD or similar within neurobiology.
