The successful applicant will join the Division for Immunology and Allergy at the Department of Medicine, Solna. The division performs top quality research on different aspect of allergy, immunology, and autoimmune diseases.

Your mission

The successful candidate will work on the projects related to the biology on innate-like T cells (their antigen specificities and functions) as well as on the humoral immune responses to vaccination and infection. The candidate is expected to learn and take part in experimental design, experimentation, presentation, and publication of results. In addition, he or she is expected to join research-related activities such as group meetings, departmental seminars, national/international meetings, as well as take part in routine work within our research team and help supervise students within the group. The candidate will also have some administrative tasks helping in managing the group.

Eligibility requirements

Successful applicants must have PhD in biomedical sciences and several years of experience working both on innate-like T cells and on humoral immune responses evidenced by prominent publication record in both fields.

To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.

Assessment criteria

 The main assessment criteria will be:

  • Experience studying both the biology of innate-like lymphocytes and regulation of humoral immunity
  • Quality of first and co-first author publications in these research areas
  • History of attracting research funding (e.g. postdoctoral fellowship)

Has several years of experience of working both on biology of innate-like T cells and regulation of B cell immune responses. Has history of publications in both subject areas of the team. Has extensive experience with advanced microscopy, flow cytometry (including RNA flow cytometry, proliferation and apoptosis assays, ex vivo detection of antigen-specific T and B cells) and in vivo cell transfer models.

The successful applicant needs to have good communication skills in English and the ability to interact effectively and work productively in a team. Emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.[

Location

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of twelve divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within The Division of Immunology and Allergy has 5 active research group. A range of preclinical as well as clinical studies in allergy, infections and immune modulation are being conducted within the division. This position in now open in Professor Karin Loré’s group (https://ki.se/en/meds/karin-lore-group ) that studies immune responses to vaccination and infection.
