Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Our research team is seeking an ambitious postdoc to develop an exciting project on new subsets of human cancer-associated fibroblasts, identified by single cell RNA sequencing, with focus on their in situ interactions with cancer cells and immune cells, and associations with outcome. This dynamic project involves most advanced methods for spatial tissue profiling and associated image analyses. An aspect adding value to the project are a series of collaborations with clinical partners with colorectal cancer expertise and image analyses experts.

Your mission

The position will be placed in Prof. Arne Östman's research group. The Östman group has for more than 15 years performed translational research on the tumor microenvironment. Studies span the range from tumor biology studies, experimental therapy studies and tissue profiling for discovery of prognostic and predictive biomarkers.

Östman group is part of Department of Oncology-Pathology. Activities at the department include basic, translational and clinical research and education related to cancer. Approximately 300 people from over 40 nations are currently working at the department. The department have 37 research groups and around 110 PhD students.

The candidate will perform a broad spectrum of studies, including continued in situ analyses of distribution and spatial context of recently identified subsets of colon cancer fibroblasts.

Studies will possibly also be extended to experimental work involving co-culture-based cell culture work and use of mouse cancer models.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence.
