Our working environment

The research group of Associate Prof.Hareth Nahi is a world-leading cross disciplinary team investigating multiple myeloma at the single cell levels to dissect the pathways and chromosomal aberrations involved in pathogenesis of disease. Our group has excelled  in epidemiology and has performed large clinical trials. We have a strong track record, with its research being funded by various national Swedish and international collaborative projects. We provide a dynamic and cutting edge research environment encompassing basic to clinical research.

Your profile

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong track record in bioinformatics, cancer and human disease biology as well as managing wet lab and purchasing equipment.

As a researcher, the applicant has to have demonstrated the strong experience in bioinformatics and computational biology especially,  single cell RNA and single cell DNA, bulk RNA and epigenomics as well as algorithm development for the combination drug discovery, statistical method development, mathematical modelling and flow cytometry. Applicants need to be experienced in dissecting complex biological mechanisms governing a phenotype using conventional wet lab techniques westren blot, qPCR as well as drug screening and CRISPR-Cas9. Strong experience in automated time lapsed microscopy of live cells, laboratory robots and working with patient materials is a must. Applicant must have pedagogic training for higher education.

In addition, the applicant should have advanced skills in 2D/3D primary cell culture of human and mice . Prior experience with endogenous mouse models  is a strong merit as well as experience in supervision. Current focus of the research project will be to study the multiple myeloma by single cell RNA gene and VDJ  expression and single cell DNA alterations, so prior experience in this field of research, both analyses and library preparation, is strong selection criterium. A person is eligible to be appointed Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after the defense of his or her doctoral thesis.

As manager of the wet lab, administrative skills working as cell lab manager and successfully writing tender according to Swedish laws and regulations  are strong merits. The applicant must be fluent in spoken and written English.
