Division Andras Simon’s group studies mechanisms of regeneration in newts, which are aquatic salamanders. During the past years the group has developed methods that enable us to characterize how these animals replace damaged or degenerating tissues with new ones. The group places our findings in an evolutionary perspective and perform comparative studies with mammals. Please find more information on their web site https://ki.se/en/cmb/andras-simons-group
