Within our group the research extends widely from basic to clinical research, which facilitates the translation of basic findings into clinical, in order to discover prospective therapies for neurological diseases and neuropsychiatric diseases. Your mission

Within the project, one important focus is development of various assays for key molecular determinants underlying mechanisms of depression with comprehensive molecular, cellular and behavioural approaches. The successful candidate will generate novel strategy of manifestation of neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases. Independence and strong motivation are expected throughout the project. The successful candidate will be encouraged to serve as a mentor for exam students and Ph.D. students, thus building experience for future leadership.

Your profile

A person is eligible to be appointed Senior Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after publicly defending his or her doctoral thesis corresponding to qualification as Assistant professor.

Applicants must have a strong background in animal models of stress-associated neuropsychiatric diseases, such as depression and anxiety. Extensive experience with methods of behavioral, molecular and cellular neuroscience including biochemistry chemogenetics and optogenetic is required. In addition, candidates must demonstrate a solid knowledge of histology and pharmacology in theory and practice. Training in medicine and a MD degree are strong advantages. Ideal applicants will bring a strong team spirit to the laboratory. Experience to be a supervisor to PhD students will be advantage. Excellent command of the English language is highly preferred.
