The announced position is a six-month project (with the posibility to be prolonged) that is located in the chemicals and fertility laboratory. Our studies are focused on the effects of chemical exposures on fertility in women. In the current project, we will carry out histomorphometric analyses of hematoxylin-eosin stained human ovarian tissue samples.
The Division for Obstetrics and Gynecology is responsible for education and research within this field. The unit has several experimental laboratories; IVF, stem cell biology and advanced ultrasound technique. Research and research education are focused on women’s health, pregnancy and pregnancy complications, fetal physiology, reproductive stem cell biology, infertility, fertility preservation, vascular physiology, fetal regenerative medicine, cervical cancer, and several other topics.
The duties include histomorphometric measurements of serially sectioned, HE-stained human ovarian tissue samples. You will carry out the measurements and compile the data for statistical analyses.
You must have documented experience of academic research work and associated documentation, handling of histological tissue samples and measurement of features in tissue sections, and statistical analysis. A suitable background education would be for example a MSc in the field of toxicology. Our team is international and cross-disciplinary. Therefore good communication skills in English (both written and oral) are a necessity.
Additional merits are experience in human ovarian histology and reproductive biology.
