Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Our lab is interested in general principle of cell differentiation during early embryonic development with focus on the germline refinement. We aim to apply the single-cell technology to address the genetic and epigenetic programing during germ cell differentiation. Ultimately, we aim to study this process in relation to germ cell tumors and transgenerational inheritance in mouse disease models.

Your mission

The group has established several key resources and techniques in the lab including mouse reporter lines, in vivo lentiviral manipulation, single-cell RNA and ATAC-sequencing and LCM-seq that enable us to perform lineage tracing and fate mapping in unprecedent resolution. We aim to address the following questions: (1) the role of niche environment for initial germ cell specification; (2) fail-safe mechanism of migration and origin for germ cell tumors; (3) transgenerational inheritance of disease by germ cells. The postdoctoral researcher will mainly use genetic mouse models and single-cell technology to understand the mechanisms of germ cell migration and clonal propagations. The postdoctoral researcher will also participate in the understanding the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of transgenerational inheritance of disease by germ cells using mouse disease models.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

We are looking for a highly-motivated candidate with a PhD degree in developmental biology, stem cell biology, molecular biology or related area. We expect the candidate to have a strong scientific background with relevant expertise in single cell biology. Experience from work with mouse and human stem cells, animal models and Crispr/Cas genome editing are a strength. Good knowledge of both spoken and written English and a positive team player are highly appreciated.
