The research group lead by Professor Marie Arsenian Henriksson conducts research aiming to discover novel therapeutic interventions for pediatric solid tumors in particular neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma by exploring the MYC proteins, metabolism and cell differentiation pathways.

We are looking for a senior researcher for further development and broadening of new projects in the group to contribute to the translation of experimental findings into the clinic.

Duties
The successful candidate is expected to bring new knowledge and lead high quality research projects from the design and performance to publication to be carried out in collaboration with the project team and other group members.

Expertise and experience in the research field of childhood cancer are required. The candidate is expected to use of models of human cancer such as patient-derived tumor cells, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), PDX (patient derived xenogratfs) and mouse models of cancer for drug development. Experience in precision medicine and in tumor histopathology is an advantage.

The projects are multidisciplinary. Network interactions with clinical and biotechnology disciplines are desirable.

Experience in supervision of PhD students and postdocs is a pre-requisite. Proficiency in giving PhD courses and teaching at bachelor, master and PhD level is of importance.

Besides the research duties it is expected that the candidate will have good administrative skills and ability to write successful grant applications.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible to be appointed Senior Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after publicly defending his or her doctoral thesis corresponding to qualification as Assistant professor.

In addition to this, displayed pedagogical proficiency or other related skills that are relevant to the appointment's duties may be required to be eligible.

Bases of assessment
We stress research expertise when assessing applicants.

We are looking for highly motivated and experienced candidate with track record of project leading.

 A PhD in Medicine, or Cell and Molecular Biology, and research experience at other national or international Universities and/or research centers.

A strong experience in pediatric malignancies and experimental models of human cancer for drug development is required.
