The Department of Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national, and global setting. Many researchers at the department are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department is responsible for three international master’s programs and the researchers are actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The department has 12 research groups, around 120 PhD students and about 140 employees.

We are looking for a research assistant to join Prof. Claudia Hanson’s research group IMPAQT at the Department of Global Public Health. You will work with leading researchers linking climate change, global health, and maternal health. Our international, creative, and collaborative environment fosters high-quality research driven by curiosity and education. 

Your mission

In this position, you will support ongoing researcher projects focused on climate change and health for the HIGH Horizons project. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and analysing research data
  • Supporting scientific writing (e.g. reports and documentation)
  • Supporting the conduct of interviews, group discussions, or transcriptions in Swedish and English
  • Possibilities of contributing to literature reviews or systematic reviews as part of ongoing research activities

This is a full-time role for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Your profile

The candidate must have:

  • Master’s degree in global health, public health sciences, medicine, environmental and health sciences or equivalent.
  • Experience with qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, thematic analysis).
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work with transcriptions of Swedish interviews or group discussions.

Meritorious for the position:

  • Research experience in climate-related health impacts.
  • Background in scientific writing.
  • Experience in conducting literature or systematic reviews.
  • Skills in conducting qualitative data collection.

We are looking for someone with strong teamwork skills, structured and precise work, both independently and collaboratively.
