The research groups led by Harald Lund (responsible and recruiting manager) and Sebastien Talbot are looking for a shared laboratory technician. The role involves working for both groups, with responsibility for managing their mouse colonies and participating in the labs’ daily research activities.

Talbot’s and Lund’s laboratories are part of a multi-group collaboration consisting of approximately 20 researchers from three research groups at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, located at Karolinska Institutet’s Solna campus (Biomedicum).

Your mission

The main task is to manage the mouse colonies of Talbot and Lund labs. This work entails genotyping, setting up efficient breeding schemes, communicating with animal facility staff and researchers. In addition, you will participate on in vivo experiments including behavioral assessments, tissue dissections and ex vivo analyses of tissues using techniques such as immunohistology/imaging and flow cytometry.

Your profile

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine or other relevant topic
  • FELASA certification or equivalent
  • Practical experience working in research laboratory
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Meriting:

  • Knowledge of and enthusiastic interest in neurobiology and immunology
  • Practical experience of managing a mouse colony
  • Experience of relevant experimental techniques: flow cytometry, qPCR, bioinformatics/programming, behavioral testing, tissue dissection, immunohistochemistry
